Would having a antenna taller than the 13" 6"trailer on the truck cause any oversize/overheight problems with the DOT guys? Seems nitpicky but ya never know.

Yes,....You can get hassled and possibly ticketed for it,...
I know that the truck trailer height is measured getting on the Turnpike in Ohio,....And I know for a fact that they will turn you around and make you get it legal before they allow you on,....I was lucky I did not get a ticket,... -
did you "just" pull that outta your ### ?
I run it ALL the time and have never once been questioned
FYI,14' 7.5"
,your radio stick ain't got any regs on it so can the legalism BS

As the nice lady in the booth told me,....Any part of the truck, trailer or load must be under 13 foot 6 inches,....They would however allow me on up to 14 feet for an extra fee,.....However I was 14 foot 2 inches with the antenna,..
She also told me to consider myself lucky that I didn't get a ticket,....
So no,........I did not just pull that out of thin air,...... -
do you wanna see what i can pull outta my ###... watch this..

Eisenhower tunnel I-70 in Colorado electric eyes will bring out an inspector, and set off flashing signs to stop you if you are over 13'6". I tripped them with a whip that was set at a 45 degree angle, so when moving was close to or over 13'6", but when stopped was lower, so when they measured me I was OK.

They raised the height restriction to 13'11" at Eisenhower about a year ago. Lots of times with the older engines, if you would grab a gear by the electric eyes the smoke would set off the overheight alarms.
