I drove many years ago in the US and remember many states would ask you to produce fuel bills from that state. I can remember being asked what scale we came into Ohio and having to wait while they checked the time to see if we had been speeding. That was in the late sixties. I can remember being let go threw a scale in West Virginia and because I knew I needed a permit went in and was told no I did not then stopped at the top of the hill and fined, cash, by the local sheriff.
When you put tuxedo pants on some people, and states look to get extra money, and with the computer technology and scanners, many more things will be available to them to get money out of you and me.
Just a thought!

I have worked around the scan card for many years in a different industry, it is all bad, & because of them I keep at over a dozen on me at any time, plus I have 40 to 50 unregistered, I have managed to get away with, plus many registered to other people. I have seen the computer print outs of "customers" what they purchase, how much they spend etc, it is claimed to be better to help understand what the consumer wants, but has been used to fire employees unjustly, if you use a card to purchase a drink on clock, poof, you can lose job for shopping on clock.
I have seen too much, way too much, so much so that I rotate cards around, & swap out from home, plus I switch in some unregistered from time to time.
I have known of police to ask for records to see what itrems were purchased for other reasons. like if item was purchased to do vandalism.
there is nothing good to be said of scan cards! my job made me paranoid, & for good reason! too many other issues with my job is why I am considering driving a truck, & I can assure you I would do everything to have several cards, & not registered, preferably! or link a card to a fictious phone number, & just use the number & not carry a card for police to gain access.
WELCOME TO THE COMMUNIST STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!! I have been saying that for years!

personal junk, it all a haze, what about the pink elephant?" did you see it? how fast was it driving, speeding , past hte fifthteen mile an hour limit? had to take a break, to many cars on the road, trying to pass with gettin bruised? the pink elephant, would be a better scenerio, least you could say? you thought you saw one?

Man what a day, or week , maybe next month we will be given numbers to be identified with, what is the count now?

I agree. I always log my fuel stops exactly. But IMO, they can't legally demand your card. I don't see where or how it can be right. If they don't believe me, then call the place I said I fueled at but I will not give them access to anything in my wallet besides my drivers license.
Just because we drive a truck for a living does not mean we give up basic rights. We are not prisoners to these people.lilillill, annettecj, goin2fast10 and 3 others Thank this. -
I agree with raiderfanatic. All theyre getting out of me is my license. Anything else in my wallet, they better have a warrent. We do have some rights. And SHAME ON PILOT!
goin2fast10 and Raiderfanatic Thank this. -
Ever try to call Pilot to voice an opinion? Yep, it's like watching paint dry. You'll die of old age before they answer the phone.
-
I have gotten responses from them 3 times.
But the wait on the phone is ridiculous. -
Courtney Greene, a spokeswoman for the Iowa State Patrol, confirms that officers are checking Rewards Cards to verify logs. She claims the courts have upheld the practice. The patrol rejected a request for an interview on the Rewards Card issue.

I guess they will just arrest me then because I am not allowing them to see anything other than my CDL and medical card.
It's the principle of the matter. No different than them wanting to search my personal vehicle. I've done nothing wrong to warrant it so have a nice day. This is America, not some third world country where the citizens have no rights.
Besides, who's to say I even have a rewards card?
