I am a 23 year old Marine and have been a Marine reservist in orlando Florida For over 4 years now and a penn stat student online. I have been thinking about getting into trucking for a while since my family has been In the business for many years. I have done one deployment to Iraq and a possible one to afganistan coming soon. I am on here seeking advice and guidance on companies and training from everyone since you guys are the ones that do this on a daily basis. Thanks for your time.

I'm ex-Infantry, and I wouldn't consider doing anything else... but it's not for everyone, that's for sure. If you're a family man, think twice about getting into this industry. Also, you'll hear no end of ######## and whining from those dissatisfied with their jobs, so you'll have to wade through all that during the learning process. On the plus side, the military has already taught you much of what you need to know... the rest will come from your instructors, and what you pick up on your own. When I started out, I bought a book called "Bumper to Bumper"---an investment which I've never regretted. Try punching up "bumper2bumpertruckbook.com" on your computer, and check it out... heaps of relevant information and useful diagrams in there. That's it for now, don't hesitate to PM me with further questions once you have sufficient posts here in this forum. Adios, and Good Luck to Ya!!!

PurpleKW,,,you are NOT an EX-Infantry anything... You are a Former Infantry Soldier for the United States of America, period! Look at it this way,,if something broke out in this country, like a WAR or revalution...those old Infantry TTC's would come right back and people would count on you, just like they did when you were employed by the Army.

This comes from a current 12B with the TN ARNG HOOAH!
