Not only bear reports. I have noticed less drivers saying if a weigh station is open or if d.o.t. is set up somewhere along back roads.

I for one will turn the radio off once the first idiot or rambo comes on the air...so that doesn't take long. I'll check back with it later and if its quiet, I'll leave it on for a while, or if there is a good conversation *crowd gasps* I might try to join in! But as for the idiots with over-modulated squawk boxes, who dont shut up about anything, they are the ones to thank for my radio being off when I dont need it.
Other wise I would love to listen in about road conditions, bear reports, or anything else somewhat relevant to life itself. -
I would prefer it to be quiet except for bear and traffic reports.
I think if they want to talk, move to another channel.Flying Dutchman Thanks this. -
I agree with that, should have mentioned it!

Just like this board theres only about ten percent of trucks with truck drivers in them. I wish sometimes I could tell who was coming up behind a stalled truck in the right lane with no lights and no warning, but I just can't get over the way I was taught, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

When I hear fool pollution, I let the fool know I'll be keying the mic on him. Then as soon as I hear the yam-ba again, he gets keyed. Release for a second at a time ever 10 seconds until there's a break in the tramission band, then tell him, you we keyed the whole time you babbled. Then at the re start of yam-ba, key him again. Will do this repeatedly until the yam-ba is out of my range. Most of the time I just leave it off though.

I leave my CB on when running the Northern Ontario roads. With all the blind corners and hills knowing or warning if a stopped vehicle or cop is up ahead saves some lives. More than once have I come around a bend and there is a cop with a 4 wheeler pulled off. Stupid car didn't think of making it to a safe area to stop. I've also been warned many times about something up ahead. Maybe moose, deer, vehicle, construction, what have you. Just knowing what may be coming up helps, especially on some of the road reports for ice and snow or closures.
scottied67 and tinytim Thank this. -
Once the speed limits in Illinois and Ohio got bumped up to 65 (for the most part), who needs bear reports any more?
-
Maybe there isnt a bear ahead or anything goin on. But people should still be curtious(I think I spelled that wrong) and answer. I have satelite radio, but still can hear the cb. Wow, imagine that I can do 2 things at once. I usually answer but then run the risk of all the smartas**** runnin their mouth because they hear a woman.

To much BS on the radio to listen anymore. Years ago I would leave it on and even chat back with some driver's. All I hear when I do turn it on is a bunch of Radio Rambo's. I agree you want to write a nbook or talk about how great you are, click to another channel.
rocknroll nik Thanks this.
