Seen one of McElroys trucks loaded down on S. 431 headed towards Guntersville,Al today. Looked a bit funny with the high rise sleeper. Most flatbed only companies I've seen are mid-rise. Wonder why they ordered their new fleet like this. Hey, does any1 know if these trucks are equipped with any APU?:biggrin_1square2:

McElroy does deliver to Florida, I was just in Tallahassee Wed.

The highrise trucks belong to the trainers, they have two sleepers, one for the trainer and one for the trainee. All other drivers have midrise one sleeper.

I haven't seen anywhere in this thread about that. Just curious cause it's one of those " I heard from Driver X" things. Thought it was kinda funny this day-age that a company with this many units wouldn't have QualComm.:biggrin_2552: One more thing, what about dress code/ appearance requirements? I like to wear my hair a little long, but am very neat/tidy about it. Also like to wear what I am comfortable in. Any1 got the scoop on that???????????

Been to there site before. But that description is a bit vague. For instance, AVERITT requires you to shave, you can only have a moustache with no "handles", hair above the collar, no facial jewelry, MUST wear their uniform, and if you wear a baseball cap it must be theirs. Also, no visible tattoos. If you have arm tats you must wear long sleeves.

Other companies version of clean cut and neat can vary widely. I like my moustache/goatee, I do shave the rest of my jawbone/neck, and I lke to wear my hear in a short ponytail. Some companies will allow it, some wont.

Chatted with Anita Sharp, another recruiter at McElroy today. Told me I am scheduled to come to orientation on the 21st of this month!!!!!!! Will graduate CDL school on the 18th!!!!!:biggrin_1square:
Talk about getting me in there quick!!!!! Also, she told me the company requires polo-style shirts, any color, as long as there is NO writing whatsoever on them.:biggrin_1square6: Puts a lil damper on my wardrobe, I'm a T-shirt guy, but a stupid shirt isn't gonna hold me back from getting a jobby-job!!!!!! Also no long hair, ponytails, or braids. Gotta go get a hair-cut now:biggrin_25510:. Back to the buzz-cut. Anyways, I'm looking forward to getting PAID-PAID-PAID, show me the $$$$$$.
