Unfortunately this is another example of how we truckers are treated as second class citizens.
The pinhead down the street that works in an office downtown does not want a semi truck parked on his street because it will make his property value go down.

I also live out in the woods just for this reason. "NO PINHEADS"

And, I've given my attack wiener dogs strict instructions to chew their ankles off if they come around!

I have a neighbor that is kind'a a #######...I was workin' on the truck at the curb in front of the house on day last year and he walks over and starts chattin' with me and tellin' me how nice my truck is and how he respects me for how I work on it myself and keep it in such perfect condition...Then he says, "But I don't like it being parked on the street because it makes the neighborhood look trashy!"

I turned around and was like...."What?????"

So he says, " If you keep parking it there I'm gonna have to call the cops and get them to make you move it!"

    So I moved it!

As it turns out, The city that I live in has an ordinance that says I can't park it on the street or in the driveway. But if I have a large gate and a concrete driveway into the back yard or the side yard and can get it behind the gate...It's legal!

Funny thing is my ######### neighbors bedroom window is right next to the side yard behind the gate where it's perfectly legal to park the truck.
So now I've been parking it there and working on it there and as long as I don't make any racket before 08:00 or after 10:00 PM I'm good to go!

So he's tried to talk to me a couple of times since I moved it for him and I just turn my back on him and walk away...But this morning I was workin' on it and when I turned around, "THERE HE WAS!"

So he says, "Is there any way that I can get you to move the truck out to the street and work on it there?" I said, "Why?" He says, " You're keeping me up at night and waking me up early in the morning when you work on it."

So....I said, "I'd prefer to work on it in the street but some ######### complained and when I asked the city about it they told me that this was the only place that I could legally work on it and they told me the earliest that I could start and the latest that I could stop...So as much as I would like to move it, My hands are tied here!"

Then I told him that I was busy and didn't have time to chat anymore....

Every now and then we get to stick it in their #####!

I totally agree also! you can't legislate stupidity or stupid people. It's gotten way out of control to where there are to many stupid people in local, state, federal offices that need to go!!

I would love to bring my truck home....no ordinances to hinder it...problem is that the chip-n-seal roadway would not handle the weight. I would end up causing more damage than I can afford to repair. Many who want to take their truck home and see the weight limit sign in their neighborhood...haven't considered this possibility... most residential streets aren't paved to the specs of highways and Interstates designed for heavy vehicles.

I also live out in the sticks. Ive brought the tractor home only during dry weather. 2 things to contend with. #1 the least bit of moisture on the branches, weighs them down well you know the rest. #2 " "moisture in the yard forget getting out of the driveway. I drive a non4-wheel drive pickup. Took me 6 tries to get out of the driveway one day. When I got to the top I was worried Id slide to the other side of the street, into the woods.

Actually, It seems to me that your both lucky. You have each other, a home, and babies. Love each other and those babies, and treat them with as much love as you possibly can. They grow WAY too fast. That pic of me is with my baby from when he got married. And yes I did cry.:biggrin_25521:Theres a better pic on my bio in my album. He is a handsome devil!
