Mercer was a good company until it left owner operators stranded 2500 miles from home and more, we sit for 14 days in California and finally was 1st on board and Mr. Pike calls and says we are LETTING DRIVERS LEASES TERMINATE AND YOU ARE ONE OF THEM. Then told us drivers if the trailer was not back in Louisville in 5 days they would report it stolen. This mess happened to hundreds of drivers, not just us. Dispatchers like Dallas was no good. God help all of us that was dumped on so bad but they are making a bad name for themselves in the trucking business.

So is Mercer Closing or just screwing the lease drivers? And why would you drive anywhere with their trailer at this point???

Up until a few weeks ago, Carmichael worked at Mercer Transportation in downtown Louisville, a national trucking firm with 250 employees.Attorney Paul Gold said Carmichael worked as a clerk. On Thursday, Carmichael was named in a 96-count indictment following an investigation by the Financial Crimes Unit of Louisville metro police. At this time, investigators aren't saying just how much money is involved, but the figure is substantial."Twelve of the counts are for the unlawful taking over $10,000," said Detective Brian Roggenkamp of Metro Police.

Terminate my lease and the trailer cannot legally be pulled. If they are not paying me to move it, it remains where they dispatched it.

This is beyond bizarre, They canceled your lease and you don't have a clue what it's about????? BS!!. Mercer doesn't "lease" drivers,it leases equipment. I don't think they have dispatchers either,
You know the routine when you go west with Mercer, They spell it out in orientation, your gonna sit if all you want to do is run straight back east.
Sorry about your problems, who is Mr. Pike??

This happened in feb 2008 and hundreds of drivers were told there lease was terminated and if the trailer was not returned it would be reported stolen. We had a coordinator who would call and offer loads. Mr. Pike was over the coordinators and was making all the calls to the trucks and ooida wrote about this stuff happening to the drivers, it was the talk of the town back then when you went through Louisville in Feb 2009
