Well maybe you're watching the wrong vids!

well i am NOT picking on anyone...or saying bad things ok?? BUT IN MY OPINION (which I am entitled to LOL) no on should be a trainer UNLESS they have AT LEAST 10 yrs exp.....sorry if I made anyone mad...not trying to...just sayin....you need exp first to be able to TEACH someone else....altho you may be a great driver..you are still new and there is nothing wrong with that..we all started somewhere....but I just feel a driver needs more exp before they can propery train someone...

I really think your time behind the wheel means nothing. My mentor has been driving sense 1978 and for swift the past 15 of those years. And he left me hanging with alot of things. I was basicly taught enough that he could lay in the back and watch movies while I earn him miles.
Yeah I get on here, and I see guys like scottie, dickjones, and a few others always answering my questions and helping me get threw these rough rookie times.
So In my opinion, which I am entitled to, I think anyone, who is a safe driver, understands the business, and is willing to teach the new drivers everything they can in those few weeks, should be aloud to train.Injun and Buckeye 'bedder Thank this. -
well not being mean, but really how much can u teach them with so little exp?? and as for your mentor at swift..i am sorry he was worthless..you should have reported him....i am sure you are a safe driver and thats great...i just still think ya need some more exp before you can teach someone else...i am not picking on you or saying you are bad driver...and i am glad that you have people helping you with your rough rookie times, thats great...but i dont feel that you are seasoned enough to train...
KE5WDP Thanks this. -
10 years? After a guy has 10 years in, do ya really think he's going to want a rookie tering up his stuff? And how many 10 year vets do we have anyway? Not enough to train all the new folks, I'll guarantee that.
The Challenger Thanks this. -
I get what your saying about exp. I definatly don't want a guy thats been driving for 6 months training. But It really depends on the person, I was trying to point out that some young drivers with only a few years exp may be great trainers, while some with 30 years suck as trainers. It's really hard to tell.
-
some drivers with 30 yrs exp still should be on the trainer truck
it depends on the individual not really the longevity of exp
3-5 yrs should be enough to have expirienced pretty much everything there is-- a trainer with only six months--well he may be good at instructing--but i would imagine that there are quite a few isses that they havnt had to cope with yet -
I just see alot of selfishness out there. Not the way I was taught. The guy who trained me was old school. Been on the road for well over 25 years at the time.
Respect your fellow drivers. I see less and less of it these days....
Different strokes for different folks I guess...Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
there are alot of 10+ yr vets...I have 20 yrs...hubby has 27...
