When I started the "refresher class" there were 60 students in the class room of other people with some experience driving. At the end of the 4 days of class we had whittled that number to 15. These were the students that could keep up with the classwork and were deemed sober. During these 4 days we were off in trucks up to 5 people per truck (5 students 1 instructor).

After the paper work of the 15 that were left 6 went home because they were bored with waiting for a trainer. When I came back after the "first phase" my class was down to 4.

I left soon after for issues already listed here.

LOL The instructors don't do any driving except at the beginning when the class is outside on the course and one instructor will get into a truck and line it up with a backing alley and another will stand there while maybe another will be there with his hands in his pockets while the one in the truck will start backing and the main instructor standing out side will narrate how the driver is looking into both mirrors and not fixating on a single one and how he is letting the truck back while idling and no gas is being used with the fuel pedal and watch him as he slows and watches as he nears the dock to gently come to a stop! The same thing happens as they show how to do a blind side or serpentine maneuver and the rest of the instructing.

Most trucks will hold 4/5 students while out getting road experience. That's 3/4 in the sleeper and one driving. So depending on how many trucks a school has will dictate how many students for a class and how many instructors employed at the school.

But the instructors show you once and they expect you to learn and then learn from the student behind the wheels mistakes and to listen as he instructs verbally while he corrects the drivers mistakes!

I was talking with an instructor here in town a few weeks ago and one of the hardest things to do was to get these up and coming students to turn off those stupid cell phones! As he put it, it was like life was ending for the younger kids if they couldn't text! Like they would withdraw! Thank God cells were still a dream when I was instructing!

IDK how big England or some of the other megas schools are but just from going through TA's orientation years ago with three rows of tables and 3 at a table that was about 30+ a week! TA is a smaller company but still that's a lot of drivers to have to replace a week!

Anyone have a few million dollars I could borrow to buy an old terminal here in town and put maybe 30-50 drivers to work and have no turnover except for retirements? It CAN be done! It's called working with the employees and not against them which seems to be the reason trucking is now a cesspool of industry!! Another word we used back a few years ago was Respect!

Sir, with all due respect, "We" means we the drivers or those of us that had been employed by C.R. England. That's kinda what it means by I was with England for two years. Recruiter? Then explain to me all of the information I provided tell the drivers, "You" about how everything England sais to it's drivers, is a lie. If someone wishes to remain with England or join, that is their choice but my intent is to provide useful information based on what I have learned while working for C.R. England.
I would think a, "Recruiter" might wanna tell you good things about England and what a great experience I had working for them. I doubt a, "Recruiter" would be wanting you to know the, "England lie." Hmmm. If you disagree with anything said, how about giving fact or personal experience to justify your opinion?

Bro, I think a lot of people read the first couple of lines and stopped there. They didn't go all the way into the negative portions. Relax, it's just a misinterpretation.

What are you guys talking about? I think it's time for your companies to do a random drug test on you all... blabbering not making any sense. Maybe it's just a lack of grammar...

Actually its a clever ploy. They act like they are still interested, yet in reality its is just software cranking out mail to see IF you are still interested. Yet if you call them they will merely restart all the paper work afresh and try to get you back into the program.

I too still get mail saying they want me back in the program, please respond to this #. Alas my desires of independence and knowing that I can wait till the right time, leaves me with the sense of being able to pass on the temptations.
