Just Graduated. Now what?

At 1 time ABF had it's own driving school, Bout 3 years ago. Don't know bout now.
Retired Feb 07. But they love new drivers so they don't have bad habits. They will tell you how they want things done. Other side of the coin, You'll be on call 1st few years then working nights and weekends. hard job, Good bennies.
You must be on your game every second, or you'll crash. 1 crash and your done. I mean a mirror or anything. If your moving it's part your fault and your gone.
Don't get me wrong I had some, after I was on the board. Look twice, Turn once.
drive slow and double check your truck everytime you leave sight of the pin. And I wish you the best of luck,,

Must be a lot of difference between Buffalo and down the SE area. You can't even buy a job with ABF down here. There seems to be about a million drivers competing for a casual job that may pop up about every 5-6 years...let alone a full time gig lol.

 

Sorry to hear that, Things maybe like that up here in NY now they did away with 30 and out, for your pension. I wish all you folks the best in the new year

 

You sort of make OTR sound like a bad thing for most people??? Can you give a little bit more detail on what you mean or why you say this??

OTR isn't a bad thing, just alot of folks have no idea what is involved.

I'd go into detail, but there's about 809,573,339 pages of it right here on this site !!!!
