as it is with most every truck on the road. and, unless the mechanism is messed up, it is impossible to lock the door from the outside without the key. the whole reason truck makers did this, was so you DIDNT lock your keys in the truck. silly rabbit.....

Freightliners and Internationals can be locked with the door open, close the door and you are then locked out. Of course, I had some canine assistance last time I was locked out. A nice felon opened my door for me.

some trucks with the peep window in the right door--you can pop that out if the rubber was put in backwards--and some volvo's with the tiny winow up high in back of sleeper you can get it out--warning on that one--better be skinny to get in--i fit at one time--dont think i could do it now tho--think i only locked them in once--had to borrow coat hanger--wasnt to bad to get in--the vent winow wasnt a real tight fit--ie--worn out frieghtshaker

As usual Dick....You don't know what the hell you're talking about!

Many trucks including my W900L and every Kenworth I've ever had can be locked without the key by just pusing down the lock and closing the door!
Maybe yours doesn't do that because when they saw who was gonna have it, they decided they needed to make it childproof!:yes2557:

The 2005 Columbia I drove could be locked without a key. However, both of us carried keys so that was never a problem.

I have an International Prostar and you can lock it by simply pressing the automatic lock button as you climb out of the truck while your key falls through the hole in your jacket to lay on the floor of the cab.

And the nice young man with all the tats who works in receiving and says he can pick any car lock and spent 3 years in juvie for auto theft........couldn't pick my truck lock.

I don't think they're going to run me tonight! No call from the trip planner....I'm soooo happy!!!!
