You mean get out of debt with the electric company anytime soon? Or get out of your driveway with that thing in your pickup? Doubtful..:biggrin_2559:

Seriously, what on earth would someone need with that, unless they wanted to irradiate the whole neighborhood?

I think that's what it's for....so you can key up and shut EVERYTHING down in the next 6 blocks.

Really it's just for people that THINK they NEED a big power to be the biggest baddest dawg on the air....the guy that can radiate on 19 AM for the next 50 miles and still peg your meter on your radio out.

I dunno if it's true but someone told me with the amount of pills that thing has, it should be putting out like 4,000 watts. :biggrin_2556: If my math serves me correctly (a bit cloudy) that should increase ones rx on this amp by almost 4 S units.

You know why? That thing would cause massive TV and phone interference to everything within 10 city blocks ,if not more! Who in the hell would pay $3800.00 for this?

With 15 volts this would be around a 4800 watt amp TurboT. At 20 volts it would be something like 9600 watts ( as per Dave Made's website) which is what that big power supply is meant for. But as with pill amps, each pill throws off a certain ammount of harmonics and will cause a peak meter to go nuts with insane power readings,so i dont know if this bird watts or peak watts. But that's still going to be a very, very dirty amp!

Unless the guy who got this lives out in the country away from everyone you will see this amp back on eaby in a few weeks!

Someone who wanted to be the big dog on the air? Like the supposed non truckers that sit on their base stations to annoy people such as Longshot34 and blackw900 have pointed out. Or maybe someone in a key down competition.

    Thanks for the clarification.

9600 watts? :biggrin_2555: Dirty amp? Sounds like this amp would be good for one of the guys that run on the super bowl. They talk so fast and sound so distorted you can't understand them anyways. :biggrin_2559:

I'm sure it'll be back on eBay. I think this guy wanted to sell but no one wanted to/couldn't spend the coin.

That depends on the antenna array you use and conditions. I have made contact with 200 watts and seen some days it took 1500 and still couldn't do it with that and a stacked set of 48 element beams. Like every thing else it depends on conditions and allot of every thing else. But EME is a great hobby it takes allot of time and effort to make it work though. I don't do it any more i got to tied up in APRS and some of the other DIGI modes.
