All these starter companies are the same bro...except some pay worse then others like crst.. gotta be the lowest pay I have found. I would check out Prime Inc. I like their program the most just because I know some peoples that work as company drivers and enjoy it. Whatever you do, do not lease. I was accepted and was set to attend next week until I opened my big mouth about a dismissed charge of public intoxication that happened 4 years ago... They are still looking at it even though it was dismissed in court and didnt show up on my background check. But hey they can hire who they want so it's all good. So how long did you last in the Cr England program? And what did they lie about?

 

DO NOT LEASE A TRUCK!!!!!! And if you are new, you really really really don't want to lease! I tell everyone this: If you are not willing to research the companies, you are not willing to invest in your career, and you won't last long. Start out as a company driver and drive a company truck for a few years. Get to know what it is you are doing. All you are doing by leasing is paying the company to drive for them. You are paying to work. How crazy is that? Look into the companies BEFORE you start training or orientation. DO NOT TAKE THE EASIEST AVENUE. Earn it. This trucking thing isn't like McDonald's. You actually have to work, you actually have to learn, and you have to do it right or it will not only cost you in the wallet, but your or someone else's life. If this is your lst option for work because you are a screw up, you won't last long out here either.

 

Stevens students get paid even less then cr england...One of the reasons I chose not to go with them...But the schooling does sound safer. I think a lot of people do not realize these schools are advanced and require 110% of your attention at all times to succeed. Not for the meek.

 

I noticed a common theme in many posts on this forum is the comparisan of trucking to fast food work.

Comments such as, "If you can't make it in trucking, go back to flipping burgers".

Or, "Burger flippers do better than OTR drivers".

I thought most people in the trucking business came from all walks of life.

It seems on these forums, it's either fast food to trucking, or visa versa.

The sad parts is CR England used to be a top notch operation many years ago and had some of the best drivers out there IMHO....
