You got to move!!! My buddy is going thru the same thing he has been there for 38 years and the city annex the land to get the 500 acres his taxes went up 70% and than said he could not keep his trucks at his house he has 7 acres he cant even leave his tractor out side its bull ####

 

yeah yeah, My city, has weight limit signs posted all over.... However, somehow Waste Managment rigs running 60,000 GVW with 2 pushers run up and down them almost every day.

Can someone say double standard?

 

well the only way to get these knuckleheads attention is park the trucks and make people starve & beg for their everyday needs!

I live in a small town in Ontario Canada and have had the same problem.
Brought the tractor home, next day the bylaw enforcment officer came by and warned me about parking my truck. I was not even allowed to bring it by the house so that I can load my bedding and food when I was going to go on the road.

However I can bring by a tractor with a 53' trailer if I was loading and/or unloading. So that's what I have done a few times brought the entire unit so that I can load tires that my truck needed. However I got into trouble for that also, it seems I'm not allowed to keep these tires at my house. I was also told I can't keep my race bikes in the garage. One day I came by the house with lumberand 40 sheets of 8x10 drywall to do our basement and I got into trouble for that. It seems that I'm allowed only 30 minutes to load and unload. I asked how the heck they expect me to do this within that time frame. I explained to them that I need at least a few hours, afterall I'm the only one who is doing the work. Nope not allowed.

However down the road another driver with a yellow Peterbuilt has been parking his truck in the driveway every time he was at home. I spoke to him and he never got any warnings.

After a few weeks I found out it was my neighbour in the court across from my house. I tried to speak to him however he never wanted to come to the door. I did manage to speak to his wife who told me that it was not her husband. I did ask her how is this hurting her husband or offending him. After a lenghty discussion I left their home.

Next week I brought the tractor home just to grab some paper work. The following day the bylaw officer was there with a warning. So next Monday I had to bring more drywall to the house. Within the hour I had the bylaw officer at my house explaining to me that I was blocking a certain court and somebody had to leave their house. I apologized to the bylaw officer and explained to him that the truck was broken down I could not build up enough air pressure to release the brakes. The tow truck was dispatched and should be here in 5 hours and my wife is coming home with a new governor that I need to replace however she would be home in 5 hours. Needles to say I did have a spare governor in the cab.

Just as I was speaking to him the tow company called and explained to me that it might be 7 to 8 hours before they can get to me. LOL boy was he pissed. He called a towing company which works for the township and they could have the truck there within 4 hours.

I explained to the bylaw officer that if my wife comes with the part and the towtruck shows up I was not gong to pay the bill.

3 Hours later my wife showed up and I replaced the part. Took the truck back to the yard. The township tow truck came by 30 minutes later and wanted me to pay for the bill for them showing up. I explained to them I never called you the town did they can pay you.

Needles to say the person who I blocked in the entire morning was the one who complained on me. It has been now over a year since these incident, I do bring trucks home maybe once a month for 4 or 5 hours and no complaints.

Most cities and towns have this by laws I don't know why and according to our by law officer it's for noise polution and the trucks bring the value down if they are allowed to be parked in the driveway,.....WTF?

Again great video, I agree with everything that you said however there is nothing that we can do, until all drivers stand up and say "NO", I want to be treated like a human.

 

Sounds like you live by me in Midland. I am so fed up and ready to move to the country with a nice big old lane. My truck is no where near as loud or as ugly as the pickups with straight pipes and bashed in multi-shade of rust paint job. They are the ones who peel out at all hours of the night too.
