I grew up in Baltimore, moved to KY and hear the same thing...What amazes me is that Baltimore is DUE east of where I live in KY, one is no more south than the other...

 

I was running across 40 in Arkansas the other day and happened to say something on the radio. Someone came back and said, "He sounds like a #### yankee."
