Sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad.

Good luck with finding a company to drive for. Like you said, I-40 is a major freight lane. You should have better luck than when you were stuck on a peninsula.

Thanks everyone. Turns out one of the family works for Western Express, so that might be where I go. But nothing is set in stone as I still have to take a refresher course.

Real estate market has been down for a couple years. Only way to sell the place quicker or at all is to lower the price.

Werner isn't all that bad, if you do join werner I hope you get a decent dispatcher. I think there is a perdue account for that area in tennessee, from what I hear you would get to see home more than being otr.

It has its ups and downs. Your dispatcher makes all the difference. Get a good one, your good. A bad one ur done.

Well dont you just love life and its curves?

I am heading to TDI in Milton at the end of the month. Big Blue is my only recourse, not a bad situation in and of itself, but I am biased from the derogatory comments here about Werner.

I really need to know how to make it as a Werner employee. Can anyone give me a primer on how to get what I need without pissing anyone off? I want to be a driver that Werner would pay to keep.

Any suggestions? PM is you do not want to say it in the open...

Don't let the negative comments about Werner scare you off.One of my twins was headed there last year and I came on here asking for advise.I let the negative comments get to me (especially Ricky) and took them as gospel truth.I talked My son Dan out of going w/ them. Now his twin Tom decided to get his class A and go w/ werner.after losing 3 jobs because of the economy. So far he likes them ,calls me every day; had a load from NY to Ohio last night.
As far as pissing them off,as in any job,you can't piss people off if you keep your mouth shut and listen.Like my mother used to say "the wise old owl sat on the oak,the more he spoke the less he heard, the less he spoke the more he heard,so why aren't you like that wise old bird"?
