Abrams, 52, announced his plans to retire on March 1, after serving 27 years as a member of Sylacauga’s Bravest. As for his future, he has already decided on his next career: owner and operator of an 18-wheel truck.

While I am positive he has administrative and budgeting experience it doesn't show in the article where he has had any previous OTR experience.

Me thinks he is in for a rude awakening.
