I think we should all realize that if you turn the miles, you make the money..... this company will let you do both.... but you can not turn down every load that is offered to you and sit at home. Miles = Money!

Randy,
The information shows that their equipment is great, and their driver compliance is pretty good. They only had issues with 9% of their inspections last year...... Not bad at all! But, all companies could use some improvements. As for Colonial Freight in Knoxville, they are a great company with a long history of being a great company.... I don't think you can go wrong with them. -
TFBS,
You interpret things a bit differently than I do.............
is that what the bs in your screen name stands for ?????
hazmat777 Thanks this. -
What is your take on it, I see lots of log violations and inspection violations, most I would say minor but I don't know if anything is minor anymore. I saw the 9% OOS but alert ratings mean this company is gonna get stopped a lot more for inspections
just trying to figure out what to look for how, to look for it.
Thanks

My take on it ?
There are way too many trucking outfits, especially up around you in Atl.
Why ask for problems ??
They run hot, everybody knows how they run, so you Will be checked out more than others.
Why increase your risk factor, that is what it really boils down to !!!!!
But hey, that's just my opinion right !!
Good Luck Driver ! -
Thanks 123456 We are intrested in 2 companys right now Watkins & Shepard and Crete Carrier. W/S safstat not exactly squeaky clean (looks like equip.) Crete much better at least no alerts. What was tempting when recruiter was in with us was that they don't give you the load and the exact route you will run, if you going Atl. to west coast and you want to run out I-10 ok or run it I-40 ok as long as your not going via Omaha or Miami. Training was 2 to 10 weeks depending on how you progress. Plus trainer had to actually be employed by Colonial minimum 5 years to be a trainer. However I can't seem to find posts that seem to be from drivers actually working for this company. Thanks for your input I do appreciate it and will be mindful of it my decision making process.
Thanks

Or you can look at it that Colonial has more drivers consistently moving because they have enough freight versus the mega carriers you mentioned..... if they don't have the freight to keep them on the road, they definetly don't have the exposure to be put oos.
Ps 123456..... you seem to know alot about this at your modest age of 84, and no mention of trucking experience...... what do you do in trucking?
