With all this new CSA 2010 regulation out there now screwing drivers and carriers alike (especially the small fleet)....
Is there some decent companies that do NOT use D.A.C or USIS
when it comes to hiring a driver?

I think its none of anyone's business if you went to an orientation and quit
or worked at a place for a few weeks and found it wasn't for you and you had to explain it to a potentioal employer when it's easier to omit it from a work record.
    A mvr is enough!!!

Short of having inside information I think it would be extremely hard to find out which companies use or dont use Hireright. You could be right that maybe its no one's biz about if you worked for someone for a week or two and left because it did not pan out. But on the other hand, if someone shows a pattern of staying somewhere for a couple weeks or a month then leaving, that might send up red flags.

Have you ordered your free copy to see what it says on there? I've been with four companies in my time, three are extremely large companies and one was smaller, but only one shows up on my DAC (Hireright) report

maybe you can hook me up with a carrier you used to work for that you know is not reported with DAC and/ or compile a list on this website. its a 1984 thing in this business at this point and not fair.

DAC will soon be a thing of the past, as the FMCSA is tracking you as a driver in seperate systems giving dates you worked for a carrier and a whole host of information obtained through new rules of compliance. http://www.psp.fmcsa.dot.gov/Pages/default.aspx This will remove the personality out of the data base, but nothing will be hidden because the infomation will include so much more.

Whats a 1984 thing? I just got confused.
    Archer Daniels
    Freightliner
    Mercer Windows

You can scratch the last two unless you want to go work in Mexico. And the window place was specifically west coast.

George Orwell - "1984" - novel that's based on a vision of the future where individuality has been crushed and civilized society lives under the constant gaze of "Big Brother". :biggrin_25524:

if there is going to be all this reruglation then there should be unionization on a national level like there used to be up until the late 70's.
i found a job today jasmininternational.com they hire drivers and owner operators without any DAC or PSP (csa 2010). felonies are ok as long as they are older than 7 years. (they like guys to have a twic)... and hazmat is not needed either.
