Well at least they contact you. I have been waiting for five weeks and I always have to contact them. They always say we are working on it. Sorry for the delay.

I'm starting to wonder about Swift now. I went to orientation the week before Thanksgiving and said to myself they would probably have a trainer for me after.
One did call but his truck broke down and he told me he would not be able to pick me up and for me to call driver services.
I did the next day and they apologized. Now I think they have just forgotten about me and every number I call puts me on hold until I give up and try back again later.
When I finally got a hold of someone they told me since my paper licence was about to expire on the 24TH to go ahead and wait until I get the hard copy.
Hard copy came last week and I have been calling daily with no answers of when I will get a trainer. -

I got a call from a mentor on Wednesday met him at the terminal and am on the road already.
When I finished tie down and tarp classes for flat bed I went to a terminal kiosk and completed the required safety classes (they can be done on the kiosk) then I completed all my tax forms followed by a call to my DM informing him I was packed and ready to go.
Don't know if getting all that done ahead of time made a difference (I am also a non smoker) or not ?
I know about getting put on hold, took me three tries on Monday to get live person on the phone. -
Interesting. I have read many posts about Swift since I was thinking of OTR driving to wrap up my career. I have read many points on good and bad things about the company in other posts, but since reading this post, I'm beginning to wonder about them. I live close to their Edwardsville, KS terminal and was driving by there the other day on the way to the airport. One thing I noticed is the vast amount of trucks sitting on the fence, along with many hooked to trailers everywhere. I realize this time of year can be slow for most companies, but there had to be approximately 60 tractors sitting there around the yard. Is this normal for a trucking firm to have that many rigs sitting around at year's end? Is Swift loosing too many drivers and going further into the red?

I'm about to start my orientation with them in harrisburg pa but I'm Exp so hopefully ill pass the road test....an I'm doing van so if I do have to go out maybe it won't be much wait for a trainer or what not....an one company is not going to please everybody so naturally some ppl are going to be dissatisfied with their exp but I take what I hear on here with a grain of salt

Why not look at Melton or Maverick, at least they have a truck waiting for you. This is crazy, Swift have all these drivers at their beckon call and don't have to pay them. Whomever thought this up got a huge bonus this Christmas from Swift management.

F Swift, this is ridiculous. I'm still waiting and I have decided to move on. I thought maybe I would be able to start a good thread here but I guess not. I went to another company and they are telling me Swift shows me employed with them and I need an end date to start at the new company. REALLY I HAVE NEVER WORKED FOR SWIFT, I would think you would have to drive to work there..... Hopefully they don't F*** with my DAC, I guess that will be just another challenge for me but I'm sure it will be fun!
