!) That seems to be the game that all companies play. Have had the same thing happen to me. Was the mileage ok? How bout the miles? Can you make a living wage with them? Can you be honest about them?

Know that I am tired of the yahoos I'm currently working for and work like to find a quality, or even a semi quality company to work for.

I've been with them a short time, and haven't had a problem.

Yes, they don't have "powerful" trucks, and they aren't fast at all. The one thing I personally don't care for much is that they don't have APUs, and don't allow inverters.

    That's life... Every company has it's pitfall(s).

I have talked to a lot of there drivers and asked them if they liked them..most of them complained about too many miles. Go figure. They say there quota is 10.5 a month, but that is the min that you will run. The guy I talked to yesterday said that he averaged 13 and showed me the pay stubs to prove it. The only grip that I have heard is on guy was pissed that they gave him a loaner truck cause his had problems, and he said it was like a pig lived in there. He was really pissed but he still said they were a great company to work for. all the guys that i have talked to have been there for 4 years or more. So I'm going to go work for them here in a little while. They also say that you can kind of chose the areas to run and not run?

Black Cat seems like a disgruntled former driver. I wanted new info, not info from back in 2007, things change. I know about running you to death, I like that part. I would rather have all the miles I can handle, rather than get paid more per mile and sit a lot wondering where the miles are from a company that says they can pay more. But, it is a wonder seeing how well all their equipment looks, and not having any APU's, wow. That could make me decide another company, maybe.
But again, as far as pay, can anyone tell me about other bonuses over the cents per mile, thanks.

Not disgruntled, that was 14 years ago. I still wouldn't promote working for them. What am I to say? "Hey they fired me and I still think that their $h!t doesn't stink!"

Someone else said it, they are a trucking company. There is no perfect one. It just so happens that I don't think that Pride Transport is anywhere near the top of the "perfect" list. Simply my opinion. :pottytrain2:

AGAIN. Black Cat seeking the opinions of CURRENT drivers, not drivers that were fired "14 years ago." I know it probably isn't a "perfect" company. But they sound better than others. I just know they have the things I am looking for now in a company. Obviously, by your "trucking company" you sound like there are no perfect ones out there any the only way is by being on your own authority or something, because you are to good for everyone else.

Over 3 1/2 yrs since original post. Just read it now & have to ask:
When you were in orientation were you informed that in the event of spoilage due to undetected refer failure, that you should call your DM asap? Did they give any guidelines as to what a driver should/ shouldn't say to insurance claim adjuster? Is it possible they did instruct you want to do but you either didn't hear it or forgot? How did you end up speaking w/ the claim adjuster? Isn't that an office personall job?
I know how it feels to be told to clean out your truck & be on your way. No getting around it's a real bummer. Not trying to probe you in any way either. Just trying to get some info to learn from. Thanx

I did call into dispatch and was told to take it to Thermoking, which I promptly did. Thermoking diagnosed it as a faulty thermostat and replaced it. I made #### sure that they wrote on the invoice that it was a mechanical malfunction and not driver error. The insurance adjuster for Dryers Ice Cream had to witness the destruction of the product. They are anal about quality control and they would not let the product be donated to a food bank or prision or any of the other place. Ice cream when it starts to melt expands, so there was no just re-freeze it. When the adjuster looked at the repair invoice and asked me, I told him. It is not my place to lie.... why that just wouldn't be Mormon like if I did, would it. Not that I am Mormon, I am just pointing out the hypocrisy.

It is what it is, I don't care if they have "changed", they did me wrong and I will share my story any chance that I get. It is the least that I can do.
