If anybody is thinking of taking there tractor home when going on hometime you can forget about it if you live less then 75 miles from a terminal. I know its a written rule, but being that Im out of the ontario terminal I thought they would cut me some slack due to the fact that its very difficult to find a parking spot for your personal vehicle. All along I have been parking my p/u truck at the terminal but getting almost impossible to find a place to park it after coming off of hometime, not to mention that I have seen a few cars badly damaged. There are 3 other marten drivers who bring there tractors home to the same town I live in but I guess they haven't gotten caught yet. :biggrin_25510: On a side note, there were two accidents in the ontario yard two days ago. A driver had his trailer slip off the back of his tractor causing the trailer to hit the ground and pushing the landing gear up into the trailer fuel tank. I always due the tug test and then look to see that the jaws are around the pin. The second accident happened when a driver drove around to the back where the exit is for the shop. Realizing that there is no exit there he flipped a u turn causing the rear of the trailer to swing around and hit two parked tractors. I heard that at least one of those drivers got his walking papers. This stuff happens quite often at the ontario yard due to it being a cluster f###. Now you know why I don't like parking my p/u there. According to the terminal manager, there are no plans to build a bigger terminal .

That sucks! Hope you get it worked out. We are going to get inspected at the scales more often now because marten has a deficient score in the unsafe driving basic on c.s.a. 2010 due to 123 drivers getting a ticket for not wearing there seat belt. So now marten is going to fire anybody that gets busted for not wearing it. We all gotta pay the price now for the drivers that didn't buckle up. :biggrin_25510:

was told by the ontario terminal manager that anybody that takes there truck home that lives within 75 miles of a terminal will get canned if they find out about it. I asked for permission to take my truck home and was told no.

Just another perfect example of upper management at Marten laying down ignorant policy and then robotic middle managers (this would include the Ontario terminal manager) sticking to it like glue regardless of circumstances. If every Ontario driver who lives within 75 miles were to park their personal vehicle in that yard, it would leave even less room for Marten's equipment, and there's already a huge lack of space for that.

Yet they want to spend $$ on new terminals, and not ugrading the ones that really need it. IE : Ontario

yeah, there is always a dozen rigs parked on the street outside the ontario terminal due to no space avaliable inside the so called terminal. When coming off hometime I always get a trailer ( If one is avaliable ) and I go park on the street so I don't get blocked in.
