If you call the shop screaming that your engine is locked up and won't turn over when you try to start the truck. Check to see if you left the truck in gear. You will get charged for a service call....
The story is driver called and said engine was locked up and would only go click after he shut the truck off to check the oil. Tech gets to the truck and finds truck in gear and brakes locked. Steps on clutch and all is good, engine starts fine. Moral of the story is step on clutch and make sure shifter is in neutral when starting.

my truck will start with the tranny in gear and the clutch out. Ask me how I know

ROOKIE! That's just inexperience, the 1st thing I do, before I'm physically in the truck, is to make sure it's in NEUTRAL! The only thing you can accomplish by NOT checking, is to tear SHTUFF UP, and quickly if you happen to be near another piece of equipment, or, god forbid, a person!! You've got to be cognizant of what you're doing and your surroundings, NOT asleep at the wheel. They're a GREAT band, not something to be when you play with big trucks for a living! COPY THAT DRIVER? Stay safe, later!

Theres a lube shop just outside of Toronto,,little town called Milton,,,its a drive through set up,,,all the doors going into the bays are pretty much original,,,all the exit doors have been replaced from guys reaching in and firing up their trucks before making sure the transmission is in neutral!!!
