flasher relay

    I just fixed a broken wire on a marker light on a wabash trailer, but blew a fuse in the process. I replaced the fuse but now my flashers, blinkers stay on constant when I try to use them. If I unhook the pigtail the tractor flasher, blinkers work fine. Could this possibly be a relay in my distribution box behind the cab ? I have a Pete 387, there is a box behind the cab where I found the blown fuse.

    yes check the fuses, relays in the box behind the cab on the frame, but also check behind the glovebox. take the glovebox out, and look to the right, you will see a flasher relay, should be a 44710 part number. I bet that is your problem, those are notorious for going bad on the 387's. good luck.

    i have a 387 too, i just fixed a problem with mine. my problem was my signals or hazards would not work when the parking lights were on.

    solution, found a corroded / broke wire at the back of tractor going to the right signal lamp.

    I also had a problem with my trl. one time, i was constantly blowing a 30 amp fuse.

    the prob. was the set screw on the trl. plug had cut thru the sheathing of a wire thus causing the short.

    my tell tell was the socket would get hot before the fuse blew.
