Hi All -
I'm new to this site, and very glad that I found it.
I spend hours reading about driving, as that's my dream.
I have my CDL A and HAZMAT from 2009, but have not
started driving yet. The license will expire in 2014.
I'm a 53 yr old female, and plan to try and go OTR before
2014. What do you think my chances are? I'm assuming
that as long as I start driving trucks before the expiration,
I won't have to retest. How does that all work out? Do you
continue to keep a CDL as long as you have a verifiable
driving job? Do you have to retest once your expiration date
comes up?
Your responses will be greatly appreciated. (I'm in NH)
Thanks!
Just another wannabe

Welcome to the party! You'll have to go through a refresher course of some sort and company training to go solo. There are plenty of companies th pick from! The only thing I ever had to retest for was maintaining my DOT physical and my HazMat endorsement (pre-2011 background check). I don't carry the HazMat endorsement any longer though.
