I have had fuel stolen twice in nearly 30 years. The last time was the J at Ripon.
Thieves now simply park next to you, wait for the right opportunity and place a small plastic hose into your tank. Small enough to fit thru the anti siphon device.
Now days, they use a small electric pump.
    You can't hear it.
I don't fuel until the morning.
Thieves seem to watch the fuel island, then if you park with an empty space next to you, just mosey on over and park next to you.
In my case, this last time at the J, I had stopped at the fuel island to do some PTI stuff. (islands were not busy and it was raining).
They apparently saw me leave the island and figured I'd just fueled.
Next morning my tank was empty. Got about 30 gallons, best I can figure.
They hit three other trucks there that night as well.
    I use locking caps now.
Yes, they can be defeated, however, I'll bet they simply go elsewhere when they see them.
What I'd really like is an electric shock connected to my caps!

The Talon Tight caps I mentioned in this thread are much harder than the OEM KW locking caps.
Those you can twist off with a large hand! :biggrin_2552:
The Talon Tight ones 'free' spin when locked, so getting something around them and twisting them isn't gonna do a dam bit of good-

Heck they use an invertor and a WATER BED PUMP and FUEL up.

Rail Yards have had truckers steal diesel out of the locomotives , few 100 gallons is hardly missed on the large locomotives.

I got my new fuel caps this week.
They are spendy but really well made and HEAVY.
I don't see any way to defeat these caps.......

If anyone is interested, sign up for Iowa80 emails and watch for the $30 coupon they tend to offer.
At that cost, no one out there is cheaper for these..

This was one of the reasons I NEVER had any one pick me up at my truck.
I'd always walk up front to get picked up. Dropped off after supper is another matter.
