Yea I can put my two cents in about SRT...don't go near them...I was approved by recruiter and safety and took long 3 day bus ride to get there. went thru orientation and even drove over the weekend and assigned a driver manager. only for that safety director eric to pull me at last minute and tell the other safety director to do HIS dirty work and discharge me (now on my DAC report) that they ran a CSA and found a weight station deal. I couldn't believe he didn't have the balllsooo to tel me himself...I really wonder if they sign people up and use the greyhound and then make their decisions once your there...I had to be put on a bus back to Idaho and pay to get my car out of storage and my pet from boarding which for 13DAYS I had to foot that bill..then that's on my DAC as well........

So you lied on your application and got mad at the Safety director because he's doing his job?
-
thats dumb for making statements like that in writing of threating people. not so smart!!

Finished my orientation with them today and after seeing the truck I was assigned ( junk yard worthy) and going over all the charges they want you to pay, I decided to go with my gut and say thanx but no thanx and came home. I've been driving for right at 15 years and this is the first company I've seen that charges a company driver for PrePass. Yes I know $3.84 a week isn't alot and no they don't have to provide it but it's more of a principal thing to me. That and all the other charges they lay on the driver. I come to work to make money, not pay them to work.
-
What all did they wanna charge you for???
-
Prepass
If you drop an empty without getting it washed out first they charge you for the washout.
I forget what else. I agree with an earlier post: they're really nice people.
The guy who does orientation (the bald guy, I forget his name) is a good guy and if you ever get to meet Ms. Kat (a driver) she is absolutely hilarious. -
His name is Loyd. Yea he was nice. Most there are. They just need to make things to where drivers want to work. 1st day and most in my class were like WTF did we just get ourselves into. But I've moved on and won't dwell on or bad mouth them. They have their reasons for doing what they do but they seriously need to change alot if their going to surviveLast edited: Jan 6, 2011

I know this is a late reply, but i worked for them a long time, and when i left,i got every penny they owed me. They even ran me down months later, cause they owed me a good deal of money from a load i had run. They sent me the check.Yes they hound you about idle time etc. but the equipment is great, and if your an honest open driver there is always someone to talk to. Especialy Jennifer barton. You may not like what they tell ya,but they will tell you how it is. Good luck. I had a very good career with them.

I must say all companies have their issues. All companies. If your with srt, stay there. Work it out. Trucking is getting sucky. But id put them up against anybody. Just so ya know, this is an honest driver's experience. I have heard terrible story's about srt just like others. And i had my problems as well ,with them. But They were industry normal problems. People are not perfect.Go to work for people who don't make payroll,or will not fix equipment, who don't pay their bills in general. They are tight with their money and profitable. They made tuff decisions back a couple yrs ago, that bothered me. But i now feel like thats why they still exist. They can be worked with.
