And the new CSA 2010 implementation should eliminate a plethora of American drivers (otherwise known as competition for Mexican drivers)...er, I mean, open new doors and new demand for those foreign drivers.// I wonder if those foreign drivers will have the CSA 2010 demands to contend with? Anyone want to bet they're exempt? I can bet these American trucking companies are seeing $$ signs (cheaper labor=higher profits) as we speak. I could see this coming last year.
Nothing our government does surprises me anymore. If I wanted to look like Europe and the rest of the world, I'd move there.Beechvtail Thanks this. -
I looked up the CSA 2010 trying to find out who it was that wrote this law and found a video on YouTube from 2005 where a suit was all proud of the new regulations. It took a while but I did figure it out that Canada is involved never did find anything about mexico.

Business groups across the board applauded the administration's move.

CSA applies for Canadian companies and drivers. Obama will most likely exempt the Mexicans (can I call them that? Is it PC?
) from any CSA or Cabotage regs in order to make El Presidente happy.
Canada and the US could have a VERY good relationship if our two sets of rule makers would come together and make ONE set of rules. We work pretty well already. Just need to go that extra step and make things the same.
Mexico does not seem to have any of the same regulations when it comes to drivers or vehicles. I'd say no way to them driving anywhere as well. -
Every vehicle operating commercially across state lines are subject to the FMCSA.
The President does not have the authority to change the enforcement.
Why would someone think Obama can make rules?
After all, both parties voted for this piece of disgusting law when NAFTA came around.
The CSA is something that has been in the works on laws and regulations in place in 2004. The special interest groups want the additional enforcement and they have been pushing for it. -
I guess the sarcasm about the mess ups and such that the POTUS and our PM have made is just lost on some.
My apologies to anyone who didn't quite get the jist of my previous message. -
I saw nothing indicating it was sarcasm.
I have seen many of the trucks from Mexico when in Texas. I do not know how they are not stopped.
