Just want to say thanks, this thread took many days, hours to read. And has been some of the most informative time I have spent here. I start school 2/7/11 and have already talked to Tracy at recruiting. I am hoping that this is the only company i have to talk to. Just my 2 cents, good pay, accountability, lots of loyal drivers willing to stand up for their employer, including one that has moved on. Not to mention that they are willing to give me a chance to prove myself, and i realize that i was not givin a promise to be hired, just a chance to show at orientation that i can be trained to do the job, and be trusted with their equipment and their customers loads. I am hoping to able to call myself a Maverick when, if the time comes. I also want to say one of the values I was taught growing up was that if I am going to work for a man, work for him, don't talk bad about him, etc. I appreciate seeing that from you all as I have learned from life when a mans workers are willing to stand up for him it's a pretty good indication that he will stand up for them.
keep it safe all.
Briansewerman Thanks this. -
Welcome the maverick. I think you'll do just fine. Maverick is the best, co I have drove for. Just my two cents. -
Just want to say thanks to everyone on this thread. I'm in school now with three weeks left. Seriously considering to apply for maverick. Not sure I want to go otr, but its looking like the only kind of job available in the entire country unless you want to flip burgers for minimum wage. I have heard a lot of good things about Maverick.

If you are considering OTR then definitely go with Maverick. They are an excellent company that will steer you right and care about their drivers. Just read the posts on here and see for yourself. It's hard work but well worth the pay. Just be prepared to do things the correct, safe way. No shortcuts.

Started school this week and talked to Courtney at Maverick and she sent my application for approval; so I hope I hear something the first of the week. I graduate the 28th of this month and hope I am at Maverick shortly thereafter. I pulled a flatbed in the Marines and was always a stickler about safety and that's one of the key things I like about Maverick. Plus their load securement is two weeks long. They are companies out there that only have securement training for three days and most of that is taught in a classroom. Personally, I don't see how they can teach you how to secure a load in a classroom; a person needs hands on training. Be safe!

Hope it works out for you. Maverick is a great company. You won't do any better anywhere else.
