more MVT ... all of the trucks are keyed alike! U don't log fueling in the yard. They hire somebody to do...but u actually have to do it most of the time w/ the guy running over say'n he'll do it. The REGEN is shut off on all the trucks cz the drivers burned the trucks up. The MPG claims a bit off kilter due to various reasons. They only issue you 3 chains. And it takes an act of God and a threat to notify the DOT.

that's because they are sold out to the illegal runn'n. $$ too good. and if U say something; they cut you back. o/o's all report 4000 plus to pay for trucks. it's always, "one more week won't hurt; and then I'll stop do'n it."
-
gotta love a company that thinks working 50 hrs is a minimun.aka 3250 /62.
-
If they shut off the regen then they are voiding the entire warranty on the motor. That regen is required to clean up the exhaust on the system. Darn are they stupid.

Every OTR company I ever worked for would want you to roll to the nearest truck stop to get a flat fixed instead of send out a road call.
Also if you told any of the 4 company's I worked for about bad trl tires. The first question, does it hold air? Then stop yer #####in, and get that load on down the road.
These OTR outfits only care about safety when they can't blame it on the driver. Drivers tell me now that the companies want them to bring the tire back so they can inspect it and see if they can blame the driver and if road serv was called out you loose your bonus due to a incident ie something that cost the company money. 1 driver told me how he was pulled in at the scale house and issued a fix it ticket in CA for not having his blown tire in a DOT approved tire carrier. Don't believe me chain a tire on the back of your truck and drive through the Sonol grade scale without it being in a carrier. The driver showed me the DOT report. -
Not for ANY company am I going to limp 10-12 miles out of route with a flat or blown tire. If it's not an exit or two in front of me, I'm parked with my flashers & triangles. It's unsafe for me, the crazy unpredictable four wheeler's, and now a lot of your newer truck drivers that drive friggen crazy and unsafe. It's also against the law, not paid, and a waste of my hours available.
These SUPER TRUCKERS out her are why there is such a wide gap between drivers & everyone else in the company. They are the reason pay has not kept up with the economy. They lap up being crapped on, under paid & treated like scum. These S.T. probably don't pay their bills or really financially care for their families.
One could hope S.T. don't breed as we don't need the toothless boys quitting school in the 8th grade because there's an opening on a lube rack somewhere...and hell in 3-4 years they can be like pop & drive. We don't need their offspring cross eyed fat girls to be slithering the trucks stops looking to be 30 min date...
Well I take that back. Somebody needs to buy the trailer houses to keep that sector of the working industry employed.
The industry has changed. The drivers before me did it all. Regulations have changed all that. These companies need to be able to afford decent, safe, and compliant equipment and the costs of keeping them this way. That includes service calls for flat or blown tires.
Remember they KNOW you are only paid by the TRIP mile. Anything other working hourly or mileage is already making your meager wages even slimmer. Associate with companies that are out to professionally truck, so you can be what your paid to be...a professional safe driver. -
Getting out of your truck to put triangles out is safer than limping a truck with a flat 12 miles??
You have to be kidding me. No way in hell i'm sitting on side of the highway for hours waiting for road service when i can get to the shop in a few min and get stuff fixed and be on my way.
I now see why some of you guys say you have to "stay out" for weeks on end... you dont get anything doneLast edited by a moderator: Apr 9, 2014
