For about a month years ago I would leave Niagara, Wi about midnight on Sunday for Maple Grove, Minnesota then unload out there, run empty back to Niagara for a drop and hook then go back to Maple Grove to sleep so I could be the first to unload on Tuesday morning. That round was about 975 miles. The rest of the week was just unload, run back empty, drop and hook and head back to Maple Grove so those days were only 650 miles. Sunday midnight through Friday afternoon I would rack up close to 3600 miles. The stupid stuff you do when you are young. That was running U.S. Highway 8 from Niagara all the way to I35 in Minnesota no scales but little towns about every 20 miles.

I would get them on tape trying to do that to you...I have a flip video recorder that just fits in my pocket, if I turn it on, it will record all the audio going on, and if done over cell, turn it on speakerphone and record it...CYA

There are posts concerning this on here and many states have laws. -
You can record anything you like, it's how you use it...It's only going to get heard by one person, the one that tried to get you to do something illegal, then dare them to say anything negative about you to your next employer or on your DAC...Recording an illegal act, or offer, is a little different...
Rollover the Original Thanks this. -
There are others and I have them on another computer I can check.

We're talking about recording an illegal activity, not a friend telling you he cheated on his wife, there's a difference...
Before trucking I was selling information to mortgage brokers(data), and on more than one occasion people quitting a company would try to sell me the info they stole off of their company's computer, I reported them to the FBI who VERY SPECIFICALLY told me to record these conversations...I was not an agent nor did I work for them and they made it very clear it's 100% legal when recording illegal activities...People doing illegal things have no expectation of privacy...Rollover the Original Thanks this. -
I posted the law as it pertains to the individual. It is only for you to know it.
You do not want to is YOUR business. I am not telling ANYONE WHAT TO DO.
Therefore, you will not see me make any comment that could bring someone under the problem with the law, unlike what you stated. -
>>> When they told you to do the recording it was covered under their search laws.
That's a false statement... -
Again, it depends on the state you are in. Apparently, you were in a state where both parties were not required to know about the recording. It's not the FBI's problem to tell you that part of the equation.
But, do whatever you want. Remember, ignorance is not a defense for breaking a law.Roadmedic Thanks this.
