well it doesn't matter how new you are if you don't know how tall your trailer is or your truck then you need to find out. no excuse for that if the bridger is marked that should tell you something is not right in general so you better check it out. I run a drop deck flatbed. I know how tal my CB anntenas are. and my exhuast stacks. I can tell you how tall my cab is with and with out my gumball on top. there is no excuse for not knowing this stuff. you can buy a tape measure almost anywhere.

If they are dumb enough to hit the bridge, they would probably go buy a 12' tape measurer. :)

Maybe if they put a billboard up with pictures of the trucks stuck under the bridge and attach that to the bridge, they might get the idea?

Probably not. You can hit a horse with a brick, but you can't make 'em drink... er something like that. :D

He did have a tape measure. He measured from the top of the box to the bottom of the box....what is that, 10 feet? He should've fit under it just fine.

And I though our trailers were 51'23 8/8". Gawd!! Now I'm gonna hafta refigure everything!

Seriously, though. Even the newest rookie knows how high his 13'6" trailer is. As you're approaching a bridge that's 11'6", it's pretty easy to tell you won't fit. I would think the bottom of the bridge being even with the top of the windshield just might be a clue.

I've gone under a couple overpasses marked at 13'6"... And I made sure I checked the clearance first. But trying to drive under a bridge marked 11' ANYTHING is just dumb as hell...
