yeah, unfortunately you don't see many of them in the Bronx. I don't go there often. I work for a company that does charitable work and was dropping off food at a middle school.

Anyplace within 60 miles of NYC is bad, they was no such thing as 48' and 53's when these roads were laid out let alone 13-6 high. I spend 6 days a week diving around in circles hear with a 50' custom built open trailer. At times I'm pushing 14' loaded, mostly 13-8 If I load it right. And it keeps you on your toe's I'll tell ya. Just remember if the sign is yellow and says 13' it's really 12'. if the sign is white and says 13' it's 13'. I don't worry so much about bridges so much,I can see bridges. I worry about wires and trees. That will cost big $ for me, those wires will clean off the top deck of my trailer in a second. Not to mention the poor schlep in the Bentley behind me...
For the most part 4 wheelers are OK when their behind you, their used to big trucks blocking 4 lanes to make a right hand turn, or making a left from the right lane. They just love to cut you off and dart out in front off you, God forbid they get behind you.

Hmmm.... This one is a killer.

I hate driving in Florida...on interstates. Backroads ain't bad.
    Atlanta, GA
    Austin, TX
    Baton Rouge, LA

ANYWHERE on I-10 & I-12 in Louisianna, Folks there make NY people look like saints.
And ANYWHERE on I-95 south of Baltimore, MD Total insanity:biggrin_2552:

I would rather run NYC and Jersey that the above mentioned areas.

I pick up my truck in Port Allen right next to Baton Rouge. The traffic is pretty crazy there for the size of the city. And the quick stops are way too often. Too much tailgating going on.

Chicago -- the 4 wheelers there consider trucks to be nothing but a nuisance and will do anything to get around or in front of one.

I personally hate driving in CA, simply because the speed limits are ridiculous - 70 for cars and 55 for trucks -- and pulling some of those hills at 55 is a real pain. The cars take horrible risks to get around the slow moving trucks and I'm amazed that there are not more serious accidents there -- no doubt a credit to the ability of the truck drivers to anticipate the stupidity and avoid it. And the other thing I've noticed in CA is that although most of the cars are in a hurry to get where they're going, there are a good number of cars that just take their time and drive like they're the only ones on the road -- 40, 45, 50 mph. They slow the slow trucks down and force them to pull into other lanes to pass, causing the cars in the other lanes to slow down. Apparently these are the eco-conscious Californians I hear so much about -- risking peoples lives to save the environment and get better fuel mileage. Bunch of wackos out there.

I'm from Michigan, and hate driving there simply because the roads are some of the worst in the country. You don't hear much in the news about it, but Michigan's economy is in terrible shape and the roads are a result of this.

Driving in Denver is a trip -- we'll just leave it at that.

Have only driven out east a few times and haven't gotten to NY - just NJ. Not very truck friendly and I was glad to get out of there.

Houston Traffic is the worst I have had to deal with, at least in a truck. I have driven in NYC and NJ in a car and I tell you what, I would not drive a truck there if I don't have to. Its aggressive driving and no room to maneuver which makes it dangerous to drive a truck through there.

Michigan definetly has some bad roads, but there are also some excellent roads too. More bad than good though.
