I dont realy understand the lumper thing. I had a load (my first that required a lumper) took the lumper 4 hours to unload and break down the load. then i get my check and find "I" payed for it.

So are we as drivers supposed to go to lumper school and learn this job so we can do it and not pay some one else? My understanding is that Roehl only pays up to $50 for a driver unload and sort. some how this dont seem right. I lose 4 hours off my 14 and 70 hour clocks for 50 bucks?

    not a happy camper!

You keep the receipt and turn it in with the trip report and the funds are recredited to your account.

i dont work for you guys, but really are you logging all of that time on duty?? also depending on what you haul, i have had pallets over a ton that i couldnt unload with a pallet jack, its not that bad to unload. the most i can get is 50 too but chances are you can unload decently quick and pocket at least something instead of sitting on your ###. thats my thought, lumpers are just not much fun to deal with are they? i like to watch THEM sit on their ### while i take that money even if i have to work harder for it.

Did you send in a request for the cost of the lumper before unloading over the Qualcomm so that the money would be on your comdata card so you could write a comcheck?

wait till your truckload, 22 pallets turns into 50 pallets you won't be liking that workout then.

I sent in the request and got the PO # put PO# and amount on trip sheet and scaned in the receipt, I remember taping it to a paper and writing the T# and the PO # on the paper next to it. Again I will check my paper work when I get back to the truck.

the worst I ever got gouged by lumpers was in Henderson Kentucky at super value or maybe sav a lot....26 pallets of apples broke down to 52 they charged me $175.00 and they gave you a pump jack to unload......ahhhh NO not gonna do that...that was one heavy as hell load.......as far as my boss looked at it we got paid to DRIVE not unload......he didn't like it when we unloaded it ourselves and gave him a reciept for it...got majorly beyotched at for that.
