Some of them definitely need it! Maybe it will keep them from flashing their brights at night!

Schools can only teach so much. They are just there to get you your license and prepare you to go with a trainer. Newbies need real life experience. You aren't going to teach this in school. Therefore anything over three weeks or so in school is redundant! So does this mean it is a CDL mill? Maybe if more of the newbies were better prepared as to what they were getting into and the mega-carriers didn't turn-over so many drivers then school's wouldn't be thought of as mills. Also if half these drivers were real men instead of whining little momma's boys then maybe they would last a little longer in the industry! I guess that's what separates the men from the boys though! Man up bit####!

Wow, awfully defensive arent you. I have zero interest in opening a school thanks.

BTW, the school I went to had 48 and 53' trailers we trained on the whole time. We spent one day with a 28' and that was only to teach us to put a set of doubles together.

Do you teach your students name calling too?

Rerun is right about cdl schools are not going to be able to teach you everything. They will teach you to pass the test. The best way to learn is to actually drive the truck for a long time. You learn how to judge taking corners and backing. Remember, the equipment that is used at the some of the schools mentioned is completely allowed by the DOT. Just because I learned using 53 foot trailers does not make me a better or worse driver than anyone else. I would have loved to take my test using a 28 footer.
