And of course this country's unwillingness to drill, find new reserves, and increase refining capacity will just about guarantee this prediction to be fulfilled.

 

Are yall ready for disaster in the fuel market again? It's lookin like it's goin to be that problem once again just 2 years after it topped $5 in many states (i.e. NY, CA, etc)
We need to come together not just sayin "oh it's sounds good but i'm willing to lose my company becuz idiots on the hill are puttin me out of work due to fuel prices" but steppin up and call your representatives senators and congress people tellin them to fight the idiots and open drilling to drop the prices where they are suppose to be.

I may just be rantin here, but i cant afford to lose my job becuz my boss cant pay me due to fuel prices being so stinkin expensive

 

I put the blame at the feet of the envirowhackos who decided it was better that we continue to be dependent on a foreign country for our oil supply. We should be investing our interests in our own oil. I say screw the world, let's drill on our own soil.......then we can watch the price of oil going down once we wean ourselves off the foreign teats. Maybe continue to buy some oil from Canada, but tell Mexico ( a country that happens to cost us billions just from their people invading our country illegally), Venezuela (who hates us and has a lunatic for a leader) and Saudi Arabia (someone else who hates us and their own common people to boot) to go pound sand.

 

I agree to some extent on the envirowhackos. But, I really wonder if the business people want to expand or not. It seems easier to import to me in looking at them.

I may not be correct at this, but I remember in the 1980 when I lived in Texas, there was an article in the paper that stated something along the lines that price controls limited the investment and use on American oil, and they got a better price on the import where they could pass it on to the consumer and maybe slide some on the domestic.

As far as the producer countries, not to incite political activity, I have always questioned our relationship to Saudi Arabia after the establishment of OPEC and without a doubt after 9/11/01. After all, 16 of 19 terrorists were from Saudia Arabia.

 

oil companys do not want more refinery's = keep production low to keep the price high

 

Too bad the closest thing we've got to an ally in the middle east is SA.........go figure?

Just think, if they were to open up drilling here, we'd have stimulated the economy by creating new jobs. Build more refineries, more jobs still. And we'd have the advantage/luxury of not being held captive by a foreign entity.

 

I am not sure they even want more refineries.

 

More domestic drilling will not change that ... US oil companies will still sell to China, India, ect ... money is money.

There is no law telling them to do otherwise.

As far as being held captive by foreign interests ... With China in control of 30% of our national debt, and far more in the hands of foreigners - I would say that's more cause to worry.

 

Disagree! opec has more to do with prices than oil exec's. but now that co, busters have been in charge for a couple years now, why is everything risinf in price?
