went out, decided screw this turned the truck around. couldnt keep it straight, tons of the snow on the ground, there was a build up of snow on the highway. the truck was just going everywhere. one of my windshield wipers broke. i never thought i'd shut down due to weather but today i did. i passed snow plows coming the opposite way, less then 5 minutes later when i turned around i was where i saw them and the snow had built up again already to about 2 or 3 inch's. horrible road conditions. white outs every few minutes, apparently its raining where i was now and the snow is gone which kind of sucks but what can you do. so instead of taking tomorrow off i'll be going out, and i get today off. works out in the end. hope anyone out there today is being safe.

Sounds like a good day to keep it parked to me.....let the salt shakers and asphalt scrapers do their job!!

I dont want to be the messenger of bad news young brother..But it will NOT be the LAST time you shut down cause of weather...
I start thinkin bout winter in September...
-
You gonna let a few snowflakes bother you?
Just kidding. Some supertrucker said that on another thread.
Stay safe and warm. -
I could tell a couple stories I know "firsthand" about the Super Duper Truckers..,but I will leave with this=

See all those trucks stranded on the roads in the northeast?
Looks miserable. -
Yeah, I'm in Boston - pretty bad storm; worse than the one right after Christmas..
Put on the Rocky 4 soundtrack and get to work. Russia got buried by two years of snow - that's right, snows so much there they measure it in time instead of feet....LMAO -
Its a mess up here, i cant believe the number of ediot drivers that were on the road today going nowhere because of the bad road conditions, trucks stranded on hills and many accidents all for what, when will drivers and companys relalize no load is worth wrecking a truck or injuring yourself or some one else.

When dispatchers and load planners get to ride along every day with the drivers...like that will happen. One sure sign that you work for a BFI (thanks Rollover) is that YOUR life is secondary to getting that load through. Always been that way, always will be that way. What do you think drives dispatchers to "encourage" modified log pages? An honest interest in the driver's health or income? Yeah, right. And all politicians want to be honest with the American people. I've been told numerous times, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this, that if I couldn't get the load through on time, there was a line of new drivers behind me, just waiting to fill my seat. I fell for it quite a bit as a younger driver, but as I got older my attitude flipped over to "I was looking for work when I found this crap-assed job, I can look for work after I leave this crap-assed job." Unfortunately, in the current economic conditions, you and other drivers may not have that luxury. I freely admit I was a "job hopper". When the dispatch/load planner/whoever the heck threatened my job due to refusal to drive tired/run heavy/drive in overly dangerous conditions my response became the same...C-YA!

Lot of places closed even if you can get to them , BOSTON is under a BLIZZARD watch.
I'm headed to Canada later tonight , next to NO snow on the ground in Eastern Ontario where I am headed.
