as soon as i posted this my phone rang. it was him, said all his appointments canceled and i could come in at any time today. although he would not recomend it due to the roads. i told him i could walk there in about half an hour, so i'm on my way over.

went in to see the wia counsolor today. he told me all about how everybody could get a job then 2 years ago all the companies started requireing 2 years experience. but it's turning around now. i have to be open to otr, can't hold out for local if they pay for it. ok, no problem.
so i have a pre hire from W/S, had to have this before he would even talk to me. now i have to get 4 adds that say no experience required, but require training. go back to see him the 24th with that stuff.
then he has me take a A.B.L.E. test. it was 40 questions paragraph comprehention (missed 1) 30 questions math (missed 0). he said i'm definatly qualified to drive a truck.
i'm getting all this stuff done, but cant be officialy enrolled in the program till i give him my dd214 that i don't get untill the 31st. -
MDub you can copy and paste or print the ads right here from the forum. I hope this helps. TD24

Wow its amazing how different the WIA process is from county to county and state to state. I started the process 4 months ago now and am finally at the end of it. I'll find out next week if I am getting approved or denied. Hopefully starting school on the 27th and then headed to W&S orientation after that.
mDub good luck to you. Don't get discouraged with the WIA process. It may take more time than you want & you may have to jump through ALOT of hoops to make them happy but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. -
Now, I'm pretty sure at your age, this is not your first rodeo. SURELY you know that government workers are NOT really interested in doing their job!

-
with your user name, i'm pretty sure you use to be one of them
