This guy had the nerve to have JB Hunt call me as a reference. They asked about his work ethics. I almost choked and wanted to say hey I hate JB Hunt (personal reasons) but I lied. Then I called his wife and told her that if he bails again after a short stint and like he did with Arrow, don't ever use me again as a reference.

The problem is The companies you mention really don't have a good track record and for that they have a hard time in keeping drivers. Thus will hire "anybody" per-say.. I do not blame anybody for being at a job or several jobs for a short period. If you are unhappy then there is no reason for you to stay. I do agree a few weeks is not long enough to get a full understanding about a company. If a company is treating you like crap you in noway should feel like you must stay with them. I personally have been with 6 companies in the past 5 years searching for the right company "FOR ME".. I believe I have found the company that best fits me and respects me as I respect them. Just cause one changes jobs often is noway or should be a way to judge one character or work habits. IF YOU ARE UNHAPPY CUASE A COMPANY TREATS YOU BAD THEN SHOULD LEAVE AND FIND ONE THAT DOES "WORK FOR YOU".
If this guy thinks JB is the answer I sure hop him the best..... -
While I agree with you about not staying with a company you are not happy with (my husband also was with other companies before finding the one he is happy with now)....this guy's whole work history is filled with short stints...in and out of trucking....and Arrow hiring him back 4 times in the short period of time of 6 months and once after him deciding not to deliver a load but to go home and then making Arrow having to get a driver to go to the home to get the load to deliver it (late of course) and now this time where he left the truck at his home and again making the company run after him to get their truck back. His attitude is He can do what he wants whenever he wants. Believe me he won't be happy with any company he works for. Just want till JB Hunt doesn't get him home when he wants to.... I give this JB Hunt stint 4 weeks tops.

Hey, Jo, I got you beat. I once worked for five oufits in six weeks. But then I found the one company that was "for me" and I stayed on with them for five years. I'm like most guys....If my company treats me like they should, I'll stay with them. If they don't, I'll quit and they'll be advertising the seat I vacate. That ad will probably be in newspapers, too.

Myspace isn't even safe from there recruiters any more. Yesterday I got a 2nd friends request from one of there recruiters. So I sent him a little message although I cannot put the title of it here. Anyhow I told him I would add him to my friends list when JB pays me the $16000.00 they owe me. He wrote back and asked me why I thought they owed me money. I just sent back 2 words "WORKERS COMP". I haven't heard from him since.

Thats why the working people need to overthrow the evil system and have ownership and control where they work.

The capitalists are smart. They reward those rank and file grunts whom they rely on and kick everyone else into the ditch. Howard Zinn calls the rewarded group the "old guard". I call it the "fab-40", the group that gets rewarded with good jobs, good opportunities, whatever. These people get their rewards, vote a certain way (usually for the elephant party), and won't allow those in the ditches to climb out. They then claim those in the ditches are there because it's their "own fault".
It's what may be called a "stable system" or a stable society. Hey--somebody has to lose, and as long as the screwed-over 58% don't rise up, nothing will happen. Of course, if they DO rise up, the capitalists have all their resources to draw on to repel them, including the Fab-40.
An extreme form of this was/is the KKK intimidating blacks to keep them down and thus out of competition for those good jobs. -
huh?......I mean what? See this is why I skipped politics in school.

It's okay, Whispers. We've all been there.
Start at step one--throw away your television set. I just read on CNN's site that a lot of people have been tuning out lately. That's good.
Step two would be to go to Amazon dot com and order:
a.) Howard Zinn's history book called "A People's History of the United States: 1492-Present"
b.) Jeremy Rifkin's sociology book called "The End of Work".
c.) Lester Thurow's book called "The Future of Capitalism".
These steps are pretty scary, and so is what you'll learn. Be tough. If you face the truth and don't hide your head in the sand, you'll become wise real quick.
