I am 15 minutes from the yard by car and I have no way to get there and with the weekend coming, that's unlikely.
Do I like what I see? Not sure. Until I am with my trainer, I won't judge them.
There are several of us at the hotel waiting. No one has access to their Comdata card until Monday, so no advances. The only thing they are paying for is the hotel. No lunch, no dinner.
A minor annoyance: USA recruiters are suppossed to send a post card for a free hat at the completion of orientation. No post card, no hat. Seriously? Its just a hat.
A major Annoyance: Stuck in the hotel until Monday. No shuttle service offered or provided. At least there is a movie theatre next door.

So are you out with your trainer??
-
Yes, day 3. Did not drive yesterday because of the snow.
123456 Thanks this. -

My trainer drove yesterday, but I didn't. It's a dedicated run through Indiana and Kentucy, then back to Ohio for the night.
-
You will find snow is not too bad.....but ice sucks! I ran into freak ice storm in SC while I was training during the late spring. It was great to have a trainer with me to provide guidance.....not fun!

I grew up in the land of lake effect snow in Michigan, so I know what you mean. It's suppose to drop down in the single digits tonight and tomorrow night. That won't be good. -
Well guys (and gals), how do I phrase this? Since at has only been 4 days of driving, I will withold final judgement, but I am not so sure what you like about this business. I am not 'feeling the love,' but once again its been only 4 days.
My trainer says I'm lucky to have him since some trainers let you go if you stall out in an interesection and I have done that at least 5 times and twice today in the 'fast' lane during traffic. I seem to forget everything when I make a mistake and then panic.
Realistically, I don't know how this is going to turn out. My trainer says he doesn't give up on people, but everyone has their limit. If I had something else to fall back on, I probably would have given up already, but here I am sitting waiting for tomorrow (my son's 5th birthday), to do the next run (dedicated, trainer is home every night). -

You will be fine, dont give up on yourself. No one is born with stick shift in their hands...just takes time. Just keep positive, sounds like you have a good trainer. I know the company I started with, sent people home who had issues backing during orientation......much less shifting. You will be fine if you want it bad enough. USA sounds like they are giving you a fair shot to make it, give it everything you have.
