Thanks Spacecoast.
You changed your Avatar. I didn't recognize you for a moment.
I'll be posting as I go. I don't see it being a problem.

I was going by what my instructor told me when I asked about it. Who knows lolWedge Thanks this. -
Hey Wedge!!!
sorry I know I haven't been around much (just got busy!) So right about now by your last time you are either asleep or getting ready to go to sleep waiting on Saturday! Your trainer sounds great! Easy going but a good trainer with a lot of experience both driving and training under his belt! Hopefully he will give you the basics you need for you to build on. Remember NO question is a DUMB question!! If you aren't sure ask! I know when I would train new nurse I would say, ''don't feel you can't me anything cuz if you aren't sure you should ask!'' Even if it was the 100th time I was asked......that is what your trainer is there for! Even better you guys have some common interests and he will ''make room'' in the cab for your stuff WOW!!!!
GOOD LUCK tomorrow and God's speed to you my friend!
Yes we will hopefully catch up some day for coffee.....unfortunately Rochester is not really on too many freight lines......
but if you ever get my way or close give me a hollar!! ( I ALMOST got to meet AT but just couldn't get outta work in time!!)
Wedge Thanks this. -
Rollin', Rollin, Rollin.

Hello Everyone.
Passing through Maryville, MO as I type.
Day 1 is in the books. We left Conley, GA around 9 am and dead headed to Nashville, TN to pick up our first load (drop & hook) which heads straight to Salt Lake City, Utah. My trainer drove the first 250 miles, and then I took over in Kentucky and drove 404 miles to Boonville, MO, where we stopped for the night.
The truck I'm in is a '09 Peterbuilt, 386, 13 spd (went with a different trainer but all is good).
This is my first attempt at driving with a splitter. It's not complicated but it takes some getting use too. I still need to scrub off my speed more. The trainer reminded me of that.
The trainer started us out today, so I figured it was a good time to post.
That's all for now.
Thanks for reading.
-Wedgesammycat, Spacecoast, wulfman75 and 2 others Thank this. -
Hey Sammycat,
Don't worry about it. I new you'd turn up sooner or later.
I'm not sure where I'll be heading, but if we head in your direction, I'll give you a shout.
I don't know if we have a pre-plan after we deliver in SLC. I think this is a live unload (we're hauling as a dry van on this run).
Catch you later.
sammycat Thanks this. -
Great start
I am so jealous - I want to be out there too!! LOL - I know my time will come. Glad you still have a chance to post during training (and the connection to do it)... I will be reading and gleaning
Wedge Thanks this. -
Wedge
that is SO great you got to post on Day 1!! Would love to hear move about what the inside of the cab is like ('09 pretty new!) Last I saw inside was '07 Volvo and Freightliner (not sure of year but think it was 07)
Post when you can cuz it's really great to hear when you guys are brand new what you are experiencing!
If for some reason you do move over to Central thread MAKE sure you LET US KNOW!!!!!
Yeah if you get up this way hollar! There are so many I want to meet.......
that I feel like I know!!!
Wedge Thanks this. -
How long have you drove for them ?
Wedge Thanks this. -
I'm currently on the road with a company trainer. This is my first week.
Right now I'm at Central's SLC terminal in Utah. The length of training lasts 28 days, and I must complete 17,000 miles before I can upgrade to solo. -
Hey Wedge!!
How's it going so far? 17K miles? In 28 days? really.....that seems like a lot of miles in a short time? That says you basically need to run 4K miles a week.........doable.Wedge Thanks this.
