Does Schneider let you know if you are hired before bringing you to orientation, or do they wait until the last second to let you know? Thanks in advance for the info.
When is hiring decision made?

Can't Imagine ANY company hiring anyone prior to a face-to-face interview, drug test, driver's license background check and DOT physical. Why would they?

I think your hired after you finish with TE and take your SQT test and pass all tests , you turn into a pumpkin. Its like a month long interview.

Normally your hire date is the 3rd day of orientation.
one37 Thanks this. -

I never presume I'm hired by any company until the keys to my assigned truck hit my hand.

Orientation is 7 days long , Sat-Fri. The first 3 days is all classroom (07:00 -18:00) goes through logging ,map reading ,trip planning and CBTS. On the fourth day after homework review and some paperwork you start truck training (Pre-Trip,Coupling/Uncoupling) with road trainer.Days 5-6 , class is split and your with road trainer for half day then back in class the other half. Friday you finish up any left over paperwork or CBTS.
Then you might have a couple of days off, Then you hook up with your TE, trainer Engineer for 1 - 3 weeks. When complete you come back and take your final test SQT- CBT's & road test,pretrip/maneuvering all that stuff. There is another threads in here that are more detailed. -
I was hired as an experienced driver. I talked to my recruiter, pee-d in a cup, then showed up for my orientation date. Then I passed a few tests and sat in a classroom for a few days learning how Schneider works, policies and there qualcom. If your a new solo driver or teams you gotta get you mac 18's right to keep you rolling to chase the dollars. Best of luck and be safe.
