my company recently cut back to 78 mph. word has it that one of our bonehead drivers got a ticket in arizona for 110 mph around september 2010. they threw him under the jail. the owner had to fly out there with another driver to get the truck and bail him out of jail. and 78 is still plenty fast.

For optimum fuel mileage a truck needs 450 to 550 hp. There are a lot of other factors involved this just one that companies can't seem to grasp.Grumppy Thanks this.

Some trucks have a dual horsepower rating. Depending upon how the ecm parameters are set the truck will "pull" better with the cruise control on. Other than that a non governed truck will have the option of getting a bigger run at a hill.
Driving a non governed truck does make the job easier when trying to pass other vehicles but also requires greater attention to possible speed traps. -
So how does one go about exploding a transmission?
