Hey guys i just finished my 3 day orientation today on Feb 16, Take it from me this company stands up to what they say, When you talk to a recuiter there not going to sugarcoat anything, there going to tell you straight up what to expect when you come here. I didn't start out at BTC, My first company was Werner and ill tell you, biggest mistake of my life, I was lied to more then several times, example i was on what was called Canada 1 meaning i would be out for 6 days and home for 1, The drop yard was 15 minutes from my house in Michigan and was told id be making anywhere from .29cpm to .32cpm, I was only making .22cpm and i didnt even get a check on my first week out, I had to pay for all my tolls to get to and from Canada, I was over loaded more then once, i was home every other night (which wasn't bad at all) but i wanted to make money and if my wheels weren't moving i wasn't making money, Then i wouldn't get any loads in one week i only drove 898 miles, I called up BTC and explained to them what was going on my recruiter offered me a job right there on the phone. I came down here Feb 12th on a bus ride down, They pay for you bus ticket, they pay for your lunch, and dinner for Monday and Tuesday, On Wednesday they pay for lunch. The days are very long Ive been up at 5 am everyday and down around 10pm at night after getting back relaxing and getting cleaned up. Its a very physical job with straping and traping, the dispatchers are awesome, the company is very family oriented, They understand we have family and will get us home every weekend if not after 12 days. In order to be successful in this job you must be willing to put 100 percent effort into learning, and be willing to stay out for up to 4 weeks without going home. I believe i have made a good choice in BTC and will stay with them for awhile. Ask anyone who works for BTC especially drivers and recuiters and they will tell you straight up what this company is all about, like i said earlier they dont sugarcoat anything. Well im off to bed checking out in the morning and getting with my trainer to begin my OTR training. ill keep up to date on whats going on.

If your from cites other then the ones closest to Memphis your going to be out for 4 weeks, Im from detroit along with several others and were out 4 weeks, So since your going home you must either live near your trainer or you live close to the terminal. plus the 4 weeks is during training if you have no flatbed experience

That's like kidnapping :biggrin_2554: they don't let you go home to see your family unless you live by their terminal? You are not allowed to bring the truck home? or even try to route you close to home?

That's only during training if you have no flatbed experience. 4 weeks otr with your trainer. Besides that I'm home every weekend, and just about every other driver I talk too. I think he should have worded that different.
