Iam new to trucking an was giving a cobra 29ltd classic, the cb has no range. I drive a 2009 cascadia i had the cb checked it in great working order. But what can I do to get range better, I tried to swap antennas at my term from another truck no change. I dont have a lot of money an its a company truck. I just want it to commuciate with customers so I dont have to wait for a yard guy to come to me. Is there a ground problem maybe?

you need to have your radio peaked and tuned first off. then get an ant from the truckstop with your own coax cable. the ones that come factory have to much other crap running thru them and causes interf with the signals. your radio probably works fine. its just todays drivers out there arent what they used to be

If you just want to talk a few miles then keep your factory coax and mounting locations and get 2 antennas ( like Wilson Silver loads or Francs Fire stick antennas with the adjustable tips,$50 for both ) and you will do fine. If after you do this and you still cant get your SWR down to under a 2.0 then you may have to mount an antenna on the back of your cab,but try the 2 antennas first. Getting one mounted on the back of the cab to work well is a pain in the ###,i know this very well! With a 2009 truck your coax should still be good but the other guy is right. If your wanting to get out further ( 10 miles+ ) then you will need to change coax and mounting locations because the TV antenna is spliced into the same coax, not to mention that the factory coax is cheaply made and does not handle a larger higher powered radio very well, and the ground is not the best at the factory locations.
