I received this from a friend today. I thought that I would pass it along.

Be sure to speak up to the FMCSA about their newest effort to keep us all safe by banning truckers from talking on a cell phone while driving. Public comments are only until Feb 22 and EVERY TRUCKER needs to scream LOUDLY on this one, or they will enact the ban. $2750 fine I think is if you get caught. http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/rulemakings/rule-programs/rule_making_details.aspx?ruleid=324

If you fail to make your views known, you have no right to whine when this passes. Every trucker in the country should make a comment on this issue.

Have you noticed that the fines he showed on his post are exactly the same fines they have proposed for violations of the proposed hours of service?

    So much for safety.

These fines will be easy to avoid....Don't violate the HOS or the cell phone ban.

It's stupid that we all have to suffer because of a few idiots that can't drive while talking on the phone!

    BNR32 and gearjammer-2000 Thank this.

    No doubt.

But how long till the first ticket is issued for suspected phone dialing and no phone in the hand?

    Why is that?

You would not even have to had the phone in your hand.

Your word against the police officer.

But then again, you must not see the point as usual.

    Really?

This is so simple to figure out and yet it completely evaded you!
Unfortunately...You're not on my list of people who I share secrets with so you will have to figure it out for yourself or remain in the dark.:biggrin_2559:
