So are there any good truckstops out there? Years ago I stopped at a little truckstop (FourAces) or something in Welles Nevada. Not being a trucker at the time I liked it but have not been in 10 years or so.
I mean what is actually classified as a "good" truck stop.

Independents, as for the chains Petro (Arrive by 5) or Flying J.
But i look for the mom and pop places. -
I would say a "good truck stop" is a matter of opinion. I want a clean truckstop with good food. And I so sick of seeing Subway! I hate that place! Personally Im not real interested in a tv room, etc as I tend to stay in the truck and play on the internet, do crossword puzzles, etc.
As for chains, I tend to look for Flying J's or Pilots. I dont care much for T'/A's as most of them seem dirty to me. Loves are ok but normally small parking areas. Sapp Bros are pretty nice as are Hess.
Non chains I think that Russell Travel Center at exit 269 (I think) on I-40 in NM is really nice. Place is spotless and has a really cool car museum. Reasonable prices in the store and laundry and a pretty good cafe.
I also like Route 66 Casino. Always find parking and a really good buffet. I dont gamble so I could care less about the casino. Showers are $5 but I hate the shower nozzles there.
