i tell ya it really gets me pissed off when i'm going 35/40 down the highway in a blizzard/snow storm, you cant even see the road except MAYBE tire tracks, and here comes jimmy jack knife fly by me doing 50. i'm always thinking what is the emergency you need to drive like that? you're only gonna save yourself a few minutes, and if you're late for an appointment, well they should know its a possibility but you should have been a responsible driver and call ahead.

Yeah, i ran Denver to Des Moines yesterday (01/19) and the whole way thru the cornsucker state, was snowing pretty good. the roads were actually kept up pretty good. well the slow lane anyway. the hammer lane was pretty unkempt. I would be crusin along doing 60-65, but guess that wasnt fast enough for a few drivers, who were totally clueless. They blow by ya, and total white-out. So i have no choice but to back off, put my 4 ways on, and hope nobody behind me is still on the gas.
one guy goes by, and i say somethin', and for the next 10 minutes banter back and forth, and obviously has no clue or does not care (prob. both) that his impatience to get to the Love's 30 mi away 2-3 min. faster is creating a dangerous condition for the 20-40 other drivers he passed to get there. And for what???
Impatience kills. -
In regards to the OP ...
Maybe "depth perception" is something that needs to be tested with the CDL physical ... some drivers really don't "see" what is obvious to others.
I would imagine a big cause of hwy rear-enders as well. -
Depth perception is part of the eye test at DMV. There some eye testing involved with the DOT physical as well.

They used the floating dots when I lived in MI. -
