My point is that all these extra wheels replace drivers and trucks that would otherwise be required.

The Ontario trucks aren't hauling any more tonnage than the other B Trains in Canada.

I K N O W T H A T !!!! The point is if all thge trucks in Canada no longer carried all that weight like 96,000 on a Super. You would need 2 tandem tandems to do the same. Therefore 2 trucks and 2 drivers would be required instead of one of each.

I know it'll never happen. I was just pointing out how LOBBY GROUPS like carriers can get laws changed to make ir easier and more cost effective for them.

Hell, in Alberta it's nothing to see a 24 wheel trailer with a 16 wheel jeep in front and a tandem booster on the back being pulled by a tri drive tractor.

Heck, we also have a lot of 96 wheel lowbeds running around. You can load a complete D11 and go down the road with road with it.

It seems that with all the trucker alliances out there, its past time that drivers themselves got together and put their foot down. The trucker alliances in both Canada and the United States are for the companies and we are still the pawns. We are still the ones who do the work and collect the crap. So why is it that we drivers are too independent for our own good?
I was in Edmonton Ab a few years back and I saw lines upon lines of gravel haulers parked along the highways and streets. They all refused to drive until they got a break on fuel prices. Yet us long haul drivers ##### and whine and things stay the same. A strike in the US a couple years ago.... One or two stopped and the rest were just a bunch of pussys that agreed to do it until it was time to do it. Then they peed like a whipped puppies and kept driving.

You are bang on! Carreir form Association (a United carrier group) and they lobby for what they want and get it.

Don't ever mention the work union however, after all, very few owner ops and drivers can stand prosperity.
