Main thing they are interested in is your credit history. Even The Truckers Report warns against them. A handful due ok with them. Most don't. Decent training is one thing they used to offer. I suppose they still do. Just another group wanting someone else to buy their equipment for them.

I was self-employed for several years prior to getting my CDL years ago, and the only thing I had to provide was the tax return info. Find someplace else. They are wanting stuff they have no need of. You provided the tax return info, that should be enough.
-
I drove for some years then got out of it and was running my own construction comp for a few years the only thing I gave to my current company was my pl statment busness card and referance done and if your new to the industrey don't do a lease to own save your money buy your own truck lease to own the company is the winner in that there not doing it to give people a chance to become owner ops its profitable to them or thay wouldent do it listen to trucking talk on the radio thell warn you away from it good luck
Big Duker Thanks this. -
Black Cotton, I 'm a little curious as to why you had to ask for your tax papers from the IRS for the last 4 years. Are you saying once you file your tax returns, you throw them out and have no copies saved ? Anyway, good luck. Kinda reminds me of trying to close escrow on a home purchase, the escrow company keeps wanting more papers after they keep saying everything is ready to go.

first hand knowledge comes from sources like trucking associations and news stories on websites, and the countless lawsuits from prime, not hearsay from truckers.
the o/p was talking about all the paperwork he had to supply...you are talking about an accident, please show me the correlation between the two..?? compare accidents to accidents and people trying to get a job by supplying paperwork, which you failed to do.....did you read the others here saying what they had to provide as proof of self employment...???
compare apples to apples, not oranges, thank you.
and if you TOOK THE TIME TO READ, you will see where a others agree about moving on....prime is just like any other bottom feeder company... -
The in-depth pre-hire investigation is to make sure that hoser drivers with a bad accident or a large number of tickets don't manage to hide that history before Prime extends an offer of employment to them - that's the point with the link to the accident. It in no way is to screen people to find folks with "good credit."
Now - you've never driven for Prime. That makes your opinion total BS. You have no real knowledge to base that opinion on, other than innuendo, and the posts of people who have an axe to grind. So you should admit up front that you have no clue.
Prime is a good trucking company. They do things I may not agree with, but have always treated me with integrity - and in return, I'm making a very good living with them. -
i'm so happy for you....(sic)...but prime is a low lying bottom feeder, as in the same category as Werner, Swift, and a few others.. that has been in trouble in the past....one need not be a driver for them, reading about them ON NEWS websites and former employee's talking about them is good enough.....you have a good time there.....and the accident still has no bearing on the paperwork the o/p had to send in to them......buh-bye..
-
It has everything to do with ensuring that a driver is not trying to hide his employment history.
And since you still have no clue you're just spreading BS about what you know nothing about. Its a good company - and yeah, there's ex-employees who have a differing opinion - just as there are at every company in every industry in America - and they know more about it than you do. That doesn't change the fact that for the majority of us it is a good company to drive for. -
the o/p complied above and beyond what is the norm for providing information to a company....you just don't like it that i am not the only person that has told him to move on....and are trying to defend your company..but...it just ain't working out for you now is it...??
i am truly happy for you...(sic).....and your cohorts...
but prime is still lower than whale snot (along with swift, werner and a few other typical companies) when it comes to a bottom feeding trucking company.....
buh-bye.. -
Save the bickering for the politics threads.
